Describe why you are proud to be an ROA member. “I am proud to be a member of the Reserve Organization of America (ROA), which is the only organization whose mission is to support all services and ranks of the reserve components. The mission of the Reserves has changed since I joined in 1985 until I was retired in 2017. The op-tempo of our reserve components has never been higher and the ROA is always there to support our reserve forces.”
Describe how ROA has benefitted you in your military career.
“The Reserve Organization of America (ROA) has benefited me from my early days as a Second Lieutenant in 1987 until my mandatory retirement as a Colonel in 2017. As a young Lieutenant, I recall the ROA mentors who taught our Officer Development Programs. Today I serve as a member on the ROA National Family Readiness Support Committee, ROA Illinois Vice President, and ROA Chapter 48 Newsletter Chairman.”

Describe why you are proud to be an ROA member.
“As a retired US Army Reserve service member, I am honored to now serve fellow reserve component members through ROA's myriad initiatives. Being "twice the citizen" while furthering one's personal and professional goals and raising strong families with the American spirit is hard. ROA allows me the opportunity to serve our amazing reserve component professionals at arms as they sacrifice to serve and lead.”
Describe how ROA has benefitted you in your military career.
“ROA was a resource for my peers and me as we were navigating our civilian and military careers. Providing mentors and folks that had "been there and done that" before us helped us access resources and support to continue our service while still being true to our other life relationships, commitments and goals.”

Describe why you are proud to be an ROA member.
“As the primary source for legislation regarding the Uniformed Services is carried out by the individual Services and the Reserve Components are only a piece of that effort, ROA stands alone as the sole advocate for the Reserve Components of All the Services and members of All Ranks.
I am very proud to be a participant in that significant effort.”
Describe how ROA has benefitted you in your military career.
“Where else can a member of the Reserve Components meet and learn directly from National and Service Leadership. As one who has personally met with Presidents Regan to Bush at ROA events and numerous Commandants, Chiefs of Staff, and their respective Directors of the Reserves, I feel privileged to have had that insider awareness in making career decisions. That access even led to a tour with the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (pictured above) during Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Such an opportunity would not have been possible without ROA opening the door.”
