The CIOR International President has announced the summer conference will be held virtually. We will share more information as it becomes available.

Here is the letter from the president:

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Due to the implications the global COVID-19 pandemic, I regret to inform you that the CIOR Summer Congress
2021 will not take place as an in-person event. Following extensive discussions with the Greek CIOR delegation
and the Greek Ministry of Defense, we have reached the conclusion that this year’s Summer Congress will go
forth as a virtual-only event. The details of this plan will be communicated during the upcoming online CIOR
In-Between Meeting on 29th May.

Nonetheless, we have agreed that CIOR Vice President Major (R) Dr. Philippos Kostaras will apply on behalf of
his nation to host a full Summer Congress in 2022 instead. This course of action has already been green-lighted
by the Greek Ministry of Defense. Having witnessed the excellent work of Philippos Kostaras and his team
firsthand, I have every confidence that next years’ event will be a great success.

Once the COVID-19 pandemic has waned, I am certain that CIOR will return to hosting great and well-attended
in-person events. With the pace of vaccinations steadily increasing, we ought to be hopeful about the potential
for such events towards the end of this year or at the beginning of 2022.
