The Reserve Organization of America (ROA) is hosting a Reserve Education Forum on How Teeth Impact Military Readiness for the Reserve and Guard.

We invite you to join us for lunch and participate in a panel discussion with military dental professionals from all branches of the Reserve Component. The panel will discuss the challenges our Guard and Reserve members face in meeting the dental requirements for deployment readiness, and the cascading impact this has on overall military readiness.

The panel will then discuss potential solutions/ways to improve dental readiness to include the H.R. 3512 Healthcare for Our Troops Act of 2021. The men and women who serve in our Reserve and National Guard make up nearly half of our military but don’t have adequate healthcare.

Sixteen percent of Reserve and National Guard members -- roughly 130,000 men and women who have volunteered to serve our country -- don't have private health insurance Hundreds of thousands more have insurance that is often prohibitively expensive when including various fees and co-pays.

National Guard and Reserve members train and conduct operations shoulder-to-shoulder with active duty and the total force is held to the same deployment and readiness standards. Unlike active duty, Guard and Reserve troops must pay out of pocket to maintain their military medical requirements. Dental health is critical to a healthy, deployable, military member and the Guard and Reserve should have equal and easy access to maintaining their medical readiness.
